Caravaggio, on the other hand, exemplifies the modern antihero, a hyperrealist whose art is instantly accessible. His doe-eyed, tousle-haired boys with puffy lips and bubble buttocks look as if they’ve just tumbled out of bed, not descended from heaven. Coarse not godly, locked into dark, ambiguous spaces by a strict geometry then picked out of deep shadow by an oracular light, his models come straight off the street. Cupid is clearly a hired urchin on whom Caravaggio strapped a pair of fake wings. The angel in his “Annunciation” dangles like Chaplin’s tramp on the high wire in “The Circus,” from what must have been a rope contraption Caravaggio devised.

I’ve had a lot of free time the past week after getting hit by a car while crossing the street. No major injuries, but out of commission for the week. And since my eye glasses were broken, there’s not really anywhere I can go. Luckily, I have the amazing Lovette to baby me, as well as family and friends (who give gifts):

I’ve been impressed by the simplicity and elegance of Tumblr for a few weeks now. I decided to try to make the move, especially after realizing how user friendly it is to customize, and, well I had a lot of time.

I worked on a new logo, and did a little bit of customizing. Luckily, a genius by the name of Jonathan Tran created a Blogger to Tumblr importer found HERE! It was giving me some problems in the beginning, only importing the same most recent 25 posts each time I tried. But after messing around in the More Info section, and failing at a few of the options I finally figured out how to get all my posts by visiting Blogger’s Data API section. After getting the correct Feed URL, I was able to follow Tran’s “25 at a time” suggestion, uploading earliest to latest. Phew.

All that remained was the Domain transfer. Sort of tricky, but my Web Host Provider was helpful yet again. My A-record(IP address) was changed properly, pointing to Tumblr. Unfortunately, many of my images were lost after this IP change-over! So now I am manually reinserted lost images! I am up to page 12, so I wouldn’t go any further than that in the meantime.

I’m giving up for the night. Hi Tumblr!
